On 22nd October, our team began on an adventure to discover the inner beauty of our brand SK-II. There were many mini exercises to this workshop whereby for each exercises; we would first have a brainstorm session within the group itself before presenting them to our visitors and getting feedback from them.

 

Three Words

Drops of Purity

 

 

Our very first exercise was to come up with three words that best represent the brand, which allow SK-II to differentiate itself from its competitors.

 

The three words that we have finally decided upon were – Drops of Purity.

 

The word ‘drop’ is derived from the advertisements posters that SK-II has where by they place emphasize on miracle water (SK-II Facial Treatment water). 'Drop' put emphasize on the fact that SK-II products are of top quality that every drop does matter. Furthermore, it portrays an image of being precious to its consumers that they would use the product till its very last drop. On top of this, Purity places emphasizes on the core natural ingredient that all SK-II products have – Pitera. This does position SK-II as a skincare brand that still believes in natural beauty and is using natural ingredient to bring out the inner beauty of every woman.

As mentioned above, Purity matters to SK-II. We believe in Beauty at its Purest in way that everyone deserve to be beautiful and SK-II is making use of the ingredient that is harvested from our mother earth to enhance this beauty. We hate Unnatural beauty as those chemicals and artificial that are put into other skincare products just spoil the true beauty that everyone has.

The value of the brand SK-II is in-line with the belief that Japanese have. SK-II like every other Japanese, we are very proud of our heritage and will stay true to our roots. We are hard working and determined people. We don’t want to just stop at perfection but continue to innovate and strive beyond perfection. Furthermore, quality matter to us and we are willing to pay for quality. The image of Japanese being calm and peaceful is way to describe how SK-II users feel when they are using the products.

As we sum-up the first three exercises, we were given this question as to what the world will miss out if SK-II doesn’t exist?

 

The team feels that every other skincare products, SK-II aims to empower women by boosting their confidence and bringing out the inner-beauty in them.  However, the main differentiating factor is how SK-II executes it where by it uses for the natural ingredient that mother earth has given us to enhance our beauty. Work doesn’t just stop there as SK-II strives for perfection with its continuous innovation, promising to bring the best out of every woman.

We hate Unnatural Beauty so we believe in Beauty at its Purest because we should not be tainted and remain true to our roots.

We are for Japan and against China because of the values a Japanese has, the determination and constantly striving beyond perfection.
