OBSERVATIONS
When the team were at Takashimaya Departmental store, the SK-II store stood out and was easy to spot as it was doused in its classic SK-II maroon and white. We noticed a mature looking lady (early forties) sitting at the bench playing some games with her phablet as the sales assistant skillfully wrapped up her purchase in the Takashimaya gift wrap. Beside the lady were several shopping bags that were from brands that were pretty prestigious as well.
Around the store, there were ads of stem-power and anti-aging advertisements. We also spotted a wide array of skin care products and a 28-day treatment serum. Walking to the opposite side of the store, we caught a glimpse of several luggages, which were solid maroon and white coloured, probably meant as sales promotion gifts. A big advertisement of their ambassador Tang Wei was also flashed from their screen and the next scene showed another whitening product with the following statement, “No. 1 globally awarded whitening series with over 200 awards”.
Right before we left, we noticed a lady in her early thirties walking over to the counter and asking about the durability of the miracle water and facial mask in mandarin. The sales assistant, a young chinese lady, smiled and replied as we turned and noticed a man carrying a baby waiting patiently at the side for his wife who was enquiring about the SK-II products.
